There are some paintings I've done that are my favorites and I'd like to paint more like 'MORNING NAP'. Paintings... that would share a similar mood....warm, soft, and bright...

    1. I'll have to do better about checking my site. I purchased my Doll in 1976 I believe. I'll make a photo and post her. The first time I saw the so called " Cabbage Patch Babies " was as I walked through the Appalachian Mountain knobs of Berea Kentucky. Martha was there with a single doll to show someone had kindly left for her to show at her booth because all of them where sold. It was the traditional bald "Original Baby Doll" that she design that predates the cabbage patch babies I'm sure.

I was surprised when some years later what I thought were her dolls burst into fame. I was surprised to see someone else get credit as the designer. I purchased my doll at a gallery in Louisville Kentucky when they ran an article in the Courier Journal showing her work . This time I wouldn't miss my chance Cabbage Kids weren't even in the picture at that time and had never been heard of yet. Martha's so called soft sculptured Original Babies were the only ones on the scene.

I went to Louisville the morning the show opened. The lady said they had sold every doll before the show opened to a world traveling group of silver trailer homes touring the country. She had called Martha for more and lucky for me she delivered by the time the show opened. Martha sued the Cabbage Patch Guy but lost because she in fact had not gotten a copy write or patent on the design. Her's were later marketed as Original Babies through make it yourself catalogs Mostly plastic heads I think with instructions for creating bodies. I'll make a photo and send it to you.
